The Apostle Paul testified how thankful he was that God saved him from his sins. In his greetings to the Ephesian church he said, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ….To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace…” (Ephesians 1:3, 6-7).
Paul was thankful because before he came to accept Jesus he was creating havoc on all who confessed Christ as Lord (Acts 9:1-18; 22:1-21; 26:1-20). Destructive human behavior is traced to sin even if it’s out of ignorance (1 Tim. 1:12-15).
But, after Paul accepted Christ, his actions changed from destruction to construction. His life was now spent building up others rather than tearing them down. Life turns out better when we allow Christ to come into our lives, “to the praise of the glory of his grace.”
